While The Ages Roll

Happy New Year!

As I read and listen, it sure appears everyone is excited to begin a new year with renewed hope and excitement of things to come. No doubt, as most everyone else, I found 2020 to be a year like no other and I too am glad to enter a new year. As I went to bed early last night, with fireworks already popping all around me, I reflected on the past year and realized that once again, God had been very good to me. Sure, the world was a bit crazy, there was sickness all around, church services were suspended, I had limited contact with others and the very sad deaths of several people I cared for so much. But sickness and death have happened in previous years and realistically and sadly, I suspect it will be in that way 2021 also. I heard someone say this week, we are not promised tomorrow, but remember we are promised eternal life. Hallelujah and I believe I heard that from a commentator on a news program. I love good news!

I'm reminded this morning, there is not a big difference in yesterday and today, simply because we entered a new year. I spent almost all day yesterday working on my computer. I don't know what I'm doing and have no idea why it's acting up but I spent the day trying. After becoming mentally exhausted (which doesn't take much) and physically tired (which doesn't take much either), I went to bed thinking all the bugs were gone and it was working fine. But, NO, as soon as I booted it up to share my morning song, the errors started occurring again. (My fingers are crossed that I can get through this rambling post before I have to restart.) It is a new day and a new year, yet we still face life's challenges, whatever they are, how big or small. Nothing really changes simply because we put up a new calendar. But we can view our life experiences each day a little differently.

As I said yesterday, God is in control. He is still on His throne and he will take care of his own. He said He will never leave or forsake us. Those assurances gives me the strength to accept what I face though it is difficult to understand sometimes why things are the way they are. This morning, I woke to "While The Ages Roll" one of my favorite Mosie Lister songs. I knew I had woke to it before and I was curious as to when since I also tried to sing it one Sunday morning during church service. I started to say coincidentally, but with God there are no coincidences, it was New Year's morning last year. I love the way God works!

"SOMEDAY THIS STAMM'RING TONGUE WILL FALTER NO MORE,

AND A GRANDER, SWEETER SONG I SHALL SING;

FOR I'LL JOIN THE RANSOMED CHOIR ON HEAVEN'S BRIGHT

SHORE, FOREVER TO PRAISE THE KING.

CHORUS:

AND WHILE THE AGES ROLL, I'LL KEEP ON PRAISING HIM,

AND MY VOICE WILL NEVER TIRE OR GROW OLD

AND MY SONG SHALL EVER BE, PRAISE THE LAMB WHO DIED FOR ME!! AND I'LL SING IT WHILE AGES SHALL ROLL.

WHEN A MILLION YEARS HAVE PASSED IN THAT WONDERFUL PLACE, MY SONG OF PRAISE WILL HAVE JUST BEGUN;

FOR MY JOY WILL NEVER END WHILE I LOOK ON HIS

FACE, AND MY SONG WILL NEVER BE DONE."

As I enter the New Year and while the ages continue to roll, I will keep of praising Him!

I pray you will will be blessed hearing "While The Ages Roll" today and I pray YOU will have a very Happy New Year!
