When He Reached Down His Hand For Me

"When he reached down his hand for me, when he reached way down for me, I was lost and undone without my God or His Son. When He reached down His hand for me."

A few days ago, I wrote about "I Can Tell You The Time". This morning's song is similar in that it is difficult to listen and not remember the time you felt God touch your heart and you made the decision to accept Christ into your life.

Again, my memory of this song goes back to my childhood and hearing it in church. When I started going to gospel music concerts, I remember this is one of the songs the McKameys would almost always sing. More recently, a few months back, I was working out and heard Tim Riley of Gold City, sing a beautiful version of this song. I love this old hymn. (But as Brother John would say, I love them all.) It is one of those older hymns that has been published in many hymnals, sung and recorded by a lot of individuals and groups and one of those I will never tire of hearing.

I woke up to The McKamey's singing "When He Reached Down His Hand For Me". I love hearing their down home, spirit filled, family style of singing and I hope you will listen and enjoy it as well. I'm also posting the link to Tim Riley's version as I enjoyed hearing it very much also. (Don't forget I try to be an old bass singer. LOL)

"Now my soul does rejoice since I made Him my choice. And I owe it all to Him. Just to lean on His arm, safe and secure from all harm, since He reached down His hand for me."
