This wonderful old hymn has been one of my favorites as long as I can remember. It is one of those I grew up hearing and singing. The words say so much! Like so many other great old hymns that have stood the test of time, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" was written during a very tragic time of Joseph Scriven's life. His fiancee drown the night before they were to be married. Mr. Scriven wrote the words of this hymn as a poem to his mother not knowing music would be added later and it would become one of the most sung hymns of comfort ever.
You have heard me say many times, I love the way God works. First, I wake to "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and then as I log onto Facebook, one of the first things I see is this picture posted by one of the sweet ladies of my Church.
I have heard it said, that Prayer is our greatest Christian privilege. I believe it and I'm so thankful for the blessing of the ability to carry our thoughts, feelings, concerns, burdens, praise ... everything, directly to our Heavenly Father.
So many mornings I get "caught up" listening to the song by so many and then it becomes difficult for me to pick the one I want to share. So it is this morning, so I'll give you a couple of more I enjoyed!
I pray you will have an amazing Tuesday!
