Victory Was Won At Calvary

Before I write about this amazing song I woke to this morning, I want to spend a few minutes reflecting on a beautiful emotional day for me to be in the house of the Lord with those who I love worshipping with. The day started with me waking up to hearing "We Are Standing On Holy Ground" and tears were flowing as I wrote the blog at 4:00 in the morning. I should have known then, with every step I took, I would be standing on Holy Ground as God was speaking with every move.

I arrived at church, picked up a bulletin, and knew then, God had a major hand in helping Brother Roger prepare the order of worship. I saw the congregation would be singing "Blessed Assurance". This was not only sung at Dad's funeral but it was also the song that came to my heart on my ambulance ride from the ER to the ICU at the hospital that would take care of me for the next several weeks. Then, I read where the choir would be singing "We Are Standing On Holy Ground". I was not at choir practice last Wednesday night so I had no idea what was planned for the choir. Brother Roger had not read my morning blog as the service was planned before the blog was written. Coincidence? I don't think so. As Brother Roger said this is definitely a "God Thing".

Since my tears were flowing already at 4:00 yesterday morning, it was no wonder that by the time I was scheduled to sing, I already needed a second handkerchief. I was also blessed to have special friends join us for our service yesterday, but my heart was also burdened with a couple of people who could not be with us. But I was touched to know one of our sweet members recorded the service for one person in particular but for others as well. I can speak for no one but me, but I thank God for the amazing blessing I received in the service yesterday morning.

But it didn't stop with the morning service. It continued with a special lunch with two of my favorite people in the entire world. And when they left they gave me a special surprise to hang in my house that reads, "It Is Well With My Soul". A special meaning with a special connection we share. Later in the day, I heard from another dear friend with a very sweet message. She spoke of how she loved reading about my song of the day and many times while I wake up to it in the morning, she goes to sleep singing it at night. And then last night, during another sweet service one of my favorite singers shared a song. I remember several years ago hearing Kadie sing for the first time. She sang beautifully then and last night she blessed my heart with another beautiful song. Kadie and her precious family mean so very much to me. So, it was good to be in the house of the Lord yesterday!

I am so thankful for yesterday, the anniversary of the second year after I "got sick". God poured out his blessings all over me. But all of this was only possible because of the victory that was won at Calvary. "Praises to Him forever I'll give. He gave His life that I might live. No one so great could ever be. Praise Him for life at Calvary." "With His own blood He paid the cost. Purchased my pardon, now I am free. Victory was won at Calvary." I love this song! I woke up to hearing it sung by my favorite quartet, The Inspirations, but I can not find a link. So I will post a link to a congregation singing this incredible song.

I hope you will have a very blessed Monday!
