In my opinion, Fannie Crosby was one of the most amazing songwriters of all that have every written a song. "To God Be The Glory" is just one of the many amazing hymns she gave us with her inspiration from God. It is said, that it was probably written in 1872 but not published until 1875. But surprisingly, "To God Be The Glory" did not gain great notoriety until Cliff Barrows begin using it in 1954 during the Billy Graham crusades. But after that, the hymn "took off" so to speak and has been sung worldwide by many.
Waking up to "To God Be The Glory" was a bit surprising to me this morning. There's a virus out there, the stock market is crashing, we can't go to church, opening day of baseball has been postponed, music concerts have been cancelled, we're trapped in our homes, stores are closing and we're out of toilet paper. Oh Lord, what are we to do? Then I thought about a little story I read posted by someone on Facebook a day or so ago. I don't know if it is true, but I'm going to accept it as if it is and share in just a minute. God created us and all things great and small, We should praise Him, giving Him honor and glory in all things, as He is our creator, our sustainer and there is nothing we would have without Him. Now after my rambling, let me share the story I read.
"To God Be The Glory" Amen! Amen!
And from our Lord's Prayer; "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." Matthew 6:13 KJV
