There's A Light Guiding Me

Yesterday was a beautiful day, a bit cool but it is January! Brother John and I had an awesome day of fellowship and visiting with several of our homebound members. I always leave feeling so blessed and my spirit uplifted after experiencing the joy of visiting with these sweet people. My day ended with my typical "routine" of meds. breathing treatments, breathing exercises, a little scripture and prayer. But I have a confession!

On most occasions, I go to sleep pretty quick, but at times, I will lay there for quite a while with things on my mind. Last night was one of those as I was thinking what if tomorrow morning I wake up without a song? That's not the first time I had that thought but last night it sure was weighing on my mind. I enjoy it so much and feel so blessed to have had this wake up "call" every morning for a long time and I finally concluded it's ok if not and I finally was able to fall off to sleep.

And to my delight, at 4:00, playing in my ears was a song I do not recall hearing in a long time. How many of you got ready for church on Sunday mornings, listening to the Gospel Jubilee? How many of you remember The Happy Goodman Family singing, "There's A Light Guiding Me"? Apparently, I do and God thought I needed to start my day with it! What a joy even though not a song I remember to terribly much. I remember it being sung in church when I was younger and The Goodmans on Sunday mornings but not much recently. I was not sure if I could even find a link to post.

To my surprise, there were a lot of links (don't you just love the internet?) I even found The Happy Goodmans from the Jubilee, an old Oak Ridge Boys version and many others. It appears that it is sung a lot today by of more Blue Grass style groups. But I also found one by Gold City that I enjoyed listening too. I hope you will enjoy "There's A Light Guiding Me" and you have an awesome day!
