The Wonder of Wonders

I've been listening a lot to Christmas music over the past few days. The inside of the house has been decorated for the season for over a month and I've almost completed putting up a few decorations outside. I love Christmas! I think a lot of us are beginning to celebrate earlier this year and enjoying it more. I noticed a Facebook post by my sweet friend, Teresa earlier this week. It was a picture of a piano with Christmas music opened to be played and she stated, "I love Christmas music". Brother Noah spoke of Christmas in "The Impact" and how our celebrations may be different this year but we can and will celebrate the birth of our Savior. No greater gift has ever been given to this lost and dying world than Jesus! What a joy to celebrate because He is the reason for the season!!!

I believe I first heard "The Wonder of Wonders" in 1983 when The Inspirations recorded it on their album of the same name. I have loved hearing it ever since. "The Wonder of Wonders" was written by Dr. Charles B. Wycuff. Dr. Wycuff was born on Sand Mountain in Alabama and went on to write many songs during his life. His songs include several of my favorites with memories associated with each one; "What A Lovely Name", "I'm Nearer Home", and "I See Jesus".

THE WONDER OF WONDERS

THE WONDER OF WONDERS AS SHE LOOKED ON HIS FACE,
THAT THIS LITTLE BOY SPOKE THE WORLDS INTO PLACE.
THE STARS AND THE MOON SHINING BRIGHTLY ON THEM,
THE EARTH AND THE SUN WERE CREATED BY HIM.

CHORUS

THE WONDER OF WONDERS, OH HOW COULD IT BE,
THAT GOD BECAME FLESH AND WAS GIVIN FOR ME.
THE ALMIGHTY CAME DOWN AND WALKED AMOUNG MEN,
THE WONDER OF WONDERS, HE DIED FOR MY SINS.

THE WONDER OF WONDERS AS SHE LOOKED DOWN AND SMILED,
THAT HE WAS HER MAKER AS WELL AS HER CHILD.
HE CREATED THE WOMB THAT HAD GIVIN HIM BIRTH.
HE WAS GOD INCARNATE CAME DOWN TO EARTH.

THE WONDER OF WONDERS AS SHE HEARD HIS SMALL CRY,
THAT HIS VOICE HAD THUNDERED ON MT. SINAI.
THE SMALL HAND SHE HELD SO TENDERLY HAD
MADE A DRY PATH THROUGH THE MIGHTY RED SEA.

I pray you will enjoy listening to one of my favorites this morning, "The Wonder of Wonders".

I hope you will have a terrific Thursday!
