"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39.
I was reading this passage of scripture several days ago and then I awake to this song this morning. God's love for us is amazing! It's boundless, immeasurable! I do not have or know the words that comes close to describing His love for us. But I believe the writer of this song was truly inspired and "The Love of God" says it so well. It was written by Frederick M Lehman but instead of me telling its history, I will post a link if you would like to know. I found it quite interesting. A footnote on the bottom of the page in one of my hymnals acknowledges the final verse was actually penned on the wall of a narrow room of an asylum by a man said to be demented. The profound lines were discovered after his death.
I realize everything you read on the internet may not be true. But why would someone tell "a story" about something this beautiful. Here's the link:
I believe my first recollection of hearing this song was of George Beverly Shea during the Billy Graham crusades. But one of my most vivid and touching memories was hearing it while watching one of the Gaither programs on TV one night. I hope you will enjoy hearing this version of this miraculous song and remembering God's love for us.
Please feel free to share this post (or any of my posts) if you believe there is someone you know that may need to hear about the Love of God.
