I first heard "The First Million Years" in 1975 and it has been one of my favorites ever since. I read what the Bible says about Heaven. I heard many preachers and teachers discuss Heaven. And of course, there have been so many songs written about Heaven. What often comes to mind when we think about Heaven is its beauty and that it will be ours for all eternity.
"I dreamed of a city called glory, so bright and so fair,
When I entered the gates I cried holy, the angels all met me there.
They carried me from mansion to mansion, Oh, the sights I saw.
Then I said I want to see Jesus,
The One who died for me."
Of course those are some the words to "I Bowed On My Knees And Cried Holy" (another favorite). But the words of this hymn and "The First Million Years" captures my feelings. Most of all, when the day comes I enter that city, I want to see my Jesus, the One who died for me and praise Him forever!
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14: 1-3
And to think, it all started with such humble beginnings. A baby born in a stable, wrapped in swaddling clothes, born to be the Savior of the world.
I pray you will have a blessed Sunday!
Beautiful song
