I could not have woke up to a more perfect song this morning. I say it often but I just love the way God works!
Several months ago, I heard this song for what I thought was for the first time. I loved it! I listened to it over and over again. I went to church the following Sunday and as soon as the service was over, I went to Karen and told her I heard a song I wish I could sing. In her beautiful, delightful and excited way, she said "oh my goodness, I just ordered the sound track this week". Of course, I could never sing this song, but she can and I look forward to hearing her one day!
It was over the next several weeks, the song was still on my mind. My cousin's family was going through a very difficult time and I shared this song with her. She told me she loved Ray Boltz and the kids had given her tickets to one of his concerts. Now I'm thinking, where have I been? Everybody has known about this amazing song but me. (I have got to get out more. LOL) But I think this was the first time I had heard it since I had been sick and it really meant so much more to me than when I had heard it previously.
This morning I want to share a prayer request with you. Many of you know and have been praying for Brittany since she was first diagnosed and had her first surgery. She has been going though chemo, radiation and other therapies but today, she is having surgery again. They are expecting this to be about a 12 hour surgery. Here is her post on FB last night. I know she will not mind me sharing and asking for everyone's prayers again.
"Hey friends! Tomorrow morning I go in at 6:00 am at MD Anderson for surgery to remove the tumor in/under my tongue and have reconstruction. Very similar to the last surgery I had but with more reconstruction. Please pray that God would be the hands and feet of my doctors and that they get every bad cell in this surgery. Please pray for complete healing and that I recover well. Please pray that Corey and I can share the good news of Jesus and his love for us to those we come in contact with in the hospital. Pray for our kids at home and that they can feel God close and also share his love with others as well. Love you all! Thank you for praying." Brittany Mann
"The Anchor Holds" touches my heart in ways like very few songs do. It's words are so simple but yet so powerful. It speaks so much to God's love for us and how He is always there.
"I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty these eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh that's where God proved his love to me."
And The Anchor Holds!
I hope you will be blessed listening to my morning song and thank you for praying for Brittany today.
