I know when you read this title you thought finally he's through writing these blogs. Well, I may be but that's not the intention of this fun, toe tapping spiritual I woke to this morning. Now when you heard the boy's quartet sing this song, you knew we were done singing for that services. David W would take the lead on this song and always did an amazing job and it always seemed to be enjoyed by the ones in attendance.
I suspect, God brought "That's Enough" to my memory and my heart as a result of my watching Fox and Friends Saturday morning. During the show, they had a segment on backyard stuff, lawn mowers, lights, landscaping, etc. and it featured Chip Wade. Chip has been featured on Fox and Friends several times and many of you may know him as a HGTV personality. But I know Chip as the son of my good friend and boy's quartet member, David W and the grandson of Ms. Wade, the wonderful and amazing lady who put this quartet together, picked the music, taught us to sing and played the piano for us. I have seen Chip on Fox and Friends several times, but this show's segment was different for me as Chip was broadcasting from his own backyard and I actually got to see his precious children (my how they've grown). It was almost unreal to see him as it was almost as I was watching his Dad, the voice, the smile, the way he walked, his hand mannerisms. And as I often do, when I see Chip, I emailed his mom, to say hello and check on the family. Chip's mom, Jill and her beautiful sisters were all part of our teenage youth group at church and if you can't tell , I'll tell you, I love this precious family. Many, many wonderful and precious memories.
I wish I had a video or recording of David W singing "That's Enough but I don't. There may be one in existence because, the last time we sang together, there were several cell phones pointed at us but I don't have a copy. Of course, David is my favorite singer of this song, but I will post my second favorite this morning, Jake Hess. I believe Jake often sang this with The Statesmen Quartet in the 50's and 60's or somewhere back then. Since you can't hear David W and the boy's quartet, I hope you will enjoy hearing Jake sing, "That's Enough".
