I love Sunday mornings! (I think I said that last week, but I do!) Sunday mornings are special for so many reasons, but even more special when you wake up to an old hymn like "Tell Me The Story Of Jesus".
"Tell Me The Story Of Jesus" Is another one of those songs I remember from my very early childhood. It's one that almost every child learns to sing (or we use to). There's something about the songs that were written by Fanny Crosby. I believe I have told her story before, but I'm always amazed to think about her life and the amazing songs she was inspired to write. Blind from the age of six, she had a remarkable way of seeing God, His Love, her Love for Him and capturing on paper the words that breathes life in to the song. Life that would span years and years. Bringing blessings and providing spiritual uplifting to almost everyone who sings or listens. Just think about a few of her songs, "Blessed Assurance", "To God Be The Glory", "Redeemed", "Jesus Keep Me Near The Cross", "I Am Thine O Lord", "He Hideth My Soul", "Pass Me Not", "Praise Him Praise Him" and there are so many more.
"Tell Me The Story of Jesus" is one of my favorite songs written by Mrs. Crosby. I'm reminded of little Lillie visiting the church a few Sunday nights ago and surprising her Papa. After the sermon she told him he forgot to tell that Jesus died on the cross for us. He told her he did, as she had fallen asleep and just didn't hear him. I think Lillie is only 4, but isn't it precious that even at our young ages we wanted to hear the story of Jesus. And even as I have grown older I want to hear it again and again. It is a miraculous story, a sweet story, a humbling story, a story of the greatest love of all and I will never grow tired of hearing it. Please "Tell Me The Story Of Jesus".
It's a great day to go to church! I pray you will have amazing services and a great day!
