"Rejoice evermore. " 1 Thessalonians 5:16
"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24
Isn't it good that we have the promises that make it possible to rejoice in all things? Yes, it may be difficult at times! It certainly is for me. I suspect with many it may be today. From my perspective. we have just come off one of the best weekends in a long time. Beautiful weather on a weekend we celebrate our freedom and independence. And yet, this morning, many have to return to work and the routines that often are not fun. And in my area, the rain is returning and it appears as if it will continue for several days. I turn on the news and I immediately hear of tropical storm Elsa, the continued search and rescue of the tragedy in Surfside, FL, shooting and violence all over the country and the "sad list" continues. I sometimes think the term used on TV called "The News" should be relabeled and called "The Bad". We have family and dear friends experiencing sickness or other situations that cause pain. Our prayer list grows longer with every passing day.
This morning's song is a great reminder. It says, "in the good times, in the bad, when I'm happy and when I'm sad, my Savior says, child there's one thing you can do. Rejoice!" "Walk on another mile. You know this journey will only last a little while. Very soon, you'll see My face, until then I'll give you grace. Be glad, lift your voice. Rejoice!" "But when you feel you're all alone, remember God's still on His throne. He says, Rejoice, My child, your help is on its way!"
I pray "Rejoice" will be a blessing to you today!
