Praise His Name

“Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.” Psalms 47:6

Yesterday afternoon, I was a little disappointed when I heard our Wednesday night church services had to be cancelled. The storms and heavy rains of the past week became evident yesterday and so it was necessary to cancel our regular service. I love Wednesday night services and I was sad as we had just been able to start back with in person prayer meetings a few weeks ago. But then I started thinking about the pictures of other churches severely damaged or even destroyed from the storms. I remember, many years ago, a church my Uncle pastored was totally destroyed by a tornado just shortly after the Sunday morning services had concluded. I pray the damage to EGBC can be repaired so that Easter services can be held this Sunday!

Throughout the scriptures, we read about God's people singing His praises during difficult times as well as good times. We are instructed to give Him praise and He is worthy of all our praises. God is holy, awesome, wonderful, good, loving and I could go on and on! I may not understand the difficult or disappointing times we experience but even then, we should give Him praise. We need to focus on our faith and not our problems. Sometimes not an easy task but God sent His Son to die for our sins. And Jesus was willing to bear our cross for us. Those last two statements keeps it all in perspective. Praise His Holy Name!

I don't recall when I first heard "Praise His Name". It was probably on one of the Gaither videos and I'm sure it was several years ago. I love hearing Sheri Easter sing it. Hearing her soft voice and knowing her testimony makes this song truly come to life for me. I pray you will enjoy hearing her sing "Praise His Name" today!

I hope you will have a blessed day!
