Praise Him! Praise Him!

"While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being."

Psalms 146:2

What an amazing and beautiful way to wake up, even if it is very early. Fanny Crosby wrote so many great hymns that I have always loved to sing or love to hear sung. "Praise Him! Praise Him" was first published in 1869. It is a hymn I have heard my entire life and one that is often sung by congregations today. It is definitely another one of those hymns that has stood the test of time.

I was thinking about the "craziness" of the world around us. So many that believe they need to protest (Peaceful protest is our first amendment right). Politicians who talk and try to gain attention (and votes) about their "solutions". Individuals wringing their hands and worrying about virtually everything in their lives. Often as we go through difficult times we feel we want to just throw up our hands and quit.

I think I will throw my hands up. But instead of quitting, I feel like throwing my hands up and shouting, praising God for all the things He has done for me! I told Brother John, the other morning, I might turn into a "shouting Baptist". (Don't see that much anymore. I guess we are just too proud and don't find it appropriate anymore.) Well, I have so much to "shout" about and wish I had the words to express the fullness I feel in my heart.

So many mornings, I start my day, reading a simple FB post from one of my dear church member friends. It will be a simple yet meaningful post. He will almost always, say something like, "Thank God for another day!" I remember as a teenager, one of the faithful church members who would say very often, "Praise The Lord Anyway!"

"Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!

Sing, O Earth, His wonderful love proclaim!

Hail Him! Hail Him! Highest archangels in glory;

Strength and honor give to His holy Name!

Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children,

In His arms He carries them all day long.

Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness; Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song!"

I think Ms. Crosby got it right when she wrote these words. I enjoy my mornings going through YouTube listening to all the various renditions of the song that I woke up too. This morning I found a version by Ernie Haase and Signature Sound that I had never heard before. The music is a little different from what I normally think of so I hope you will enjoy hearing Ms. Corsby's awesome hymn sung by EHSS.
