Do you remember, on occasion, the song leader would ask the congregation if they had a request? As a teenager, often on Sunday nights, our church would sing from an old brown paperback song book. I wish I could recall the name of the song book but I've tried and tried and do not remember. "On The Jericho Road" was one of the songs often requested. Almost all of us teenagers enjoyed singing it.
I was thinking about the music when I was a teenager compared to music for teenagers today. Teenagers in my day really enjoyed the old gospel songs and hymns. Or at least that was what I remember. We also had our popular music but the sound and words were nothing compared to what the kids have today. So much of the secular music marketed today is not fit to be heard (well that's my opinion). I don't remember music like that when I was growing up. Perhaps it's because we did not have all the different ways to listen or the radios in our cars were not loud enough for people in other cars to hear what we were playing. But I'm thankful there are a lot of teenagers who still enjoy good Christian music. There may not be as many that truly enjoy the old gospel songs and Church hymns that I like but I'm glad to hear them singing and lifting their voice in praise.
I hope you will enjoy listening to the old song "On The Jericho Road" that the teenagers I grew up with enjoyed singing. I pray you will have a great day!
Love it, love it,love it!!!
