"Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face, There to sing forever of His saving grace; On the streets of glory let me lift my voice, Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice."
I love the chorus of "Oh I Want To See Him" as it captures what I believe is the heart of every Christian. This great old hymn was written in 1916 by Rufus H. Cornelius. What I find interesting about Mr. Cornelius is that he he was born in Blount County, Alabama and later was a principal at Oneonta High School. It seems that so many songwriters and singers were born close by here in north Alabama. Most moved on to other parts of the country but this area is where they got their start.
"Oh I Want To See Him" is another one I remember from the Redback Church Hymnal and when I hear it I have so many memories ... church services, revivals, homecoming services where when it was sung, all the singers lifted their voices in praise.
I hope you will be blessed hearing it today!
I pray you will have a beautiful Thursday!
