It's hard to describe the excitement and joy I feel when I wake up each morning to a song! As I've said before, sometimes I lay there a few minutes and just enjoy and think about it. Some mornings, I can't wait to log on and share! This morning was one of those mornings, I was eager but the website apparently slept late. LOL Finally, I am able to share "Never Alone".
How many of you know or remember this song? I must admit, I do not recall hearing it in a very long time and I don't know why. While I continued to try to get on the blog website, I decided to send out a FB message and in my FB news feed I saw the following posted by Singing News.
Now this was not what I was thinking I would write when I first woke up, but this picture and scripture verse made me pause and think. As we go thru these difficult times, I know there are many of us who feel a loss and loneliness. Perhaps even a little fear or concern creeps in. I know last night, I watched the clock and thought about missing prayer meeting and choir practice. I looked at the clock and thought I would be leaving choir practice right now. I love being around my friends and church family and even though I was missing them and our service and practice, I really wasn't lonely. Isn't it awesome that He never leaves us. While we are missing services, he is still with us. He will bring us comfort during our most difficult times. He will bring us great joy in our good times. He will never forsake us! Isn't that a happy thought?
When I first woke up, I was thinking about some of the long peaceful walks, I would often take in the North Georgia mountains. Along the trails, by the streams, feeling the warmth of the sun, hearing the babbling of the water, the birds singing, the leaves rustling in the breeze ... well maybe that gives you a picture. But in those times, seemingly no one around for millions of miles, I knew I was never alone. Enjoying the beautiful creation our God gave us to enjoy, it also provided a perfect time to commune with Him and as the Dottie Rambo song says, "I Just Came To Talk With You Lord". "No, never alone, No, never alone; He promised never to leave me, Never to leave me alone."
Of course, you all know I love the old hymns and especially a congregation singing them. This morning, I'm going to share a link from a Gerald Wolfe hymn sing in Atlanta. I hope to go to one of those one day, but my real dream is for my precious church to host a similar event for our congregation and the people of Gadsden. I hope you will enjoy this selection of "Never Alone".
I pray for your health and safety and hope you have an awesome day!
