Loving God, Loving Each Other

Here I sit with my coffee, waiting and watching for the sun to rise. I must admit (as I have before) I love the beginning of a new day but Sundays for some reason seem more special than others. Perhaps, it is because of my childhood and memories of Gospel Jubilee playing on the TV. Perhaps it is the memory of the smell of Krispy Kreme doughnuts toasting in the oven. (Mom and Dad would often take us to Krispy Kreme on Ponce de Leon Ave. in downtown Atlanta on Saturday nights so we would have a special treat before church on Sundays.) Maybe it is simply the joy of knowing that Sunday is the day we go to church and worship our Lord! Mornings are special for the quietness of the time, moments of reflection, to enjoy memories, to write, to read and prepare for the goodness in store for me this day!

This morning, I woke to "Loving God, Loving Each Other" by the Gaither Vocal Band. Honestly, it's kind of a different song for me to wake up too. I like the Gaither Vocal Band but I have never considered them one of my favorite groups. All the individuals who have been with them have superb voices, I mean second to none and sing amazingly beautiful together. Their song selections are always some of my favorites but my ear is just not attracted to them as with other groups. Maybe they are just too perfect and I like a little imperfection which I can relate too quite well. Maybe that suggests I should listen to them more. LOL

But "Loving God, Loving Each Other" is a perfect song for me this morning. I can not think of a song playing in my ear today, that better represents my thoughts as I prepare to attend church this morning! Isn't it awesome, to know that within a few hours we will be attending our places of worship to show our love for God and at the same time, loving each other and making music with our friends. It's not complicated, we don't need a lot of rules. This is all we need to know. It's "Loving God, Loving Each Other".

I hope you will enjoy the selection from one of the older Gaither videos.

I pray this morning will be a special time for you as it has been for me! Cherish the time you have to worship at your church and with your church family this morning if you are able to attend and enjoy your day!
