Lord Lead Me On

Good morning! I'm a little late with my post today as I slept a little later than normal. Guess I needed it. But what a joy to wake up to one of my favorite songs (p. 96) from my favorite hymnal, The Redback Church Hymnal.

This is another one of the songs I use to love hearing in church services, revivals, camp meetings or wherever. Everyone just "raring back" and singing their parts. It was always a joyful noise unto the Lord, a wonderful song of worship.

It was written by Marion Easterling from Clanton, AL and first published in 1937. Mr. Easterling also wrote several other well known, published and recorded songs such as "Standing By The River", "When I Wake Up To Sleep No More", "When He Reached Down His Hand For Me", and "Rainbow Of Love". He has been listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for his long career as the programmer for the WKLF Radio station's gospel program "America's Favorites". The program began in December 1947 and continued for 39 years, during which time, he broadcast over 20,000 shows. I just love the internet as I can learn so much. But Siri can't tell us how to get to Heaven. (You had to be a East Gadsden, Sunday morning and Sunday night to appreciate the last comment.)

I'm glad it's Wednesday. In a few hours we will be in prayer meeting and Bible Study. I always enjoy the few songs we sing to start the services. And then following the service is choir practice. I love the spirit in that room (Always reminds me of the song, "Loving God, Loving Each Other"). Everyone singing preparing for Sunday morning service and also the special time right now as we prepare for our Easter Services. Have I mentioned, "I Sing Because"?

I hope you have a great Wednesday. Maybe listening to "Lord Lead Me On" will make your day a little brighter. I hope so!
