I really enjoy this old song. It was one I sang often as a teenager and the message in this song is greater today than when it was written in 1924 by Kittie Suffield.
It seems that with every passing day, there is so much going on. I think after last year, many of us all hoped that 2021 would somehow immediately be better. We are only 7 days in so I’m not giving up. I’m looking forward to in person, in sanctuary worship service again this Sunday morning.
I won’t even attempt to try to list all the things that have happened just this year. From the state of our extreme, diverse and divisive political views, to the continued pandemic crisis, misguided social views and in my opinion our world has become spiritually bankrupt in so many ways. We continue to live in a lost and dying world who needs God and that in Him is our only hope.
It can be a little bit more of a challenge today than before, but I believe we have need to continue to do our best to share the joy of knowing Jesus. The cashier at Walmart (or somewhere else LOL) is worrying about catching the virus yet needs to work to provide for the family. Our masks cover our smile but a kind word could go along way for that person to see Christ in us. An encouraging word or an invite to church or to watch online could go a long way to making their day or their life better. There’s an older person sitting home alone or someone quarantined with the virus and a phone call or a card may be just the “medicine” they need to smile and make it through the day. I don’t know what to do, how to do it or even a person who is in need but I pray each day, if God would lead me, guide me and give me what I need so I can be a blessing to some one.
I can’t do much, but I’m so thankful that “Little Is Much” when God is in it! I definitely need His “boost” to my efforts. I pray you will enjoy hearing one of my favorite versions of this song today!
