I love waking to songs I remember from the Redback Church Hymnal. I know I mention that so often, but it represents, to me, an amazing collection of songs and memories. "Leave It There" is a great song of trust and assurance in our Lord. Do you remember it? It's not sung too much anymore or at least I don't hear very often.
"Leave It There" was written in 1916 by Charles Tindley. Rev. Tindley has what I think is an incredible life's story. Virtually self-taught, he became a Methodist minister and most of the many songs he is known for writing came as a result of a sermon. He was known as a captivating minister and as I listen to the words of this song, I can almost hear him delivering it from the pulpit as a sermon.
"Leave it there, leave it there,
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there;
If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out—
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there."
I pray you will be blessed hearing "Leave It There" today!
I could keep posting links! It is so hard for me to pick one as when I start listening, I don't want to stop and I want to share them all. I hope your Sunday is amazing!
