Yesterday was a good day to be in the house of the Lord and there was a sweet, sweet spirit during both services. Some of my favorite people took part in the services through songs or their testimonies. Dillion, Linda, Karen, Rick, Ron, Laynah, and Nick were all blessings through their songs and messages. Makes me wish today was Sunday again!
After waking up to "Sweet, Sweet Spirit" yesterday it was equally good to hear "Learning to Lean" as my morning song today. It is another one of those songs or choruses that we so often have sung as a congregation as the spirit began to move. Written, I believe in the late 70's, it quickly was being sung by many church choirs and groups. it became so popular, that within just a couple of years it was published in several hymnals.
Again, as with yesterday's song, I consider "Learning To Lean" a simple song but with a powerful message.
Learning to lean Learning to lean, I'm learning to lean on Jesus Finding more power than I've ever dreamed I'm learning to lean on Jesus. Sad broken hearted, at an alter I knelt I found peace that was so serene And all that He asks is a childlike trust And a heart that is learning to lean.
It's hard to read the words without singing, isn't it? I hope you will enjoy today and "Learning To Lean".
