This morning I woke to a song written by Lanny Wolfe in the early to mid 70"s I believe. I remember it being recorded and sung by him and his trio back in those days. I have not heard it too much since until The Collingsworth Family started singing it in their services several years ago.
What an appropriate song for the day we are living in. Every day we read, hear or see, men searching for something. They are protesting, rioting and breaking things. We see them kneeling for our flag and they are burning Bibles, I saw a report several weeks ago of someone who suggested while we are tearing down all these monuments we should also include portraits and statues of Jesus. We have deemed liquor stores as "essential" yet only a few are allowed to attend in person Church services. Very few of our national leaders seem to take a stance against this type of physical and social destruction and in my opinion by staying silent they are giving their permission for these type actions to continue. It is truly a world gone crazy it would seem. Things have been a little crazy from time to time my entire life but nothing like this. I can not imagine what my sweet grandfather would be thinking if he were still alive today. When I was younger, I remember so many times him worrying about the things going on then and they are quite pale in comparison to today. Granddaddy knew Jesus was the answer then and He is still today.
"Jesus Is Still The Answer"
"Some men try so hard to prove
That God's not really real While others say they know for sure His love you cannot feel But I know He is real within my soul For one day He cleansed and He made me whole
And Jesus is still the answer For that longing deep in your soul.
CHORUS Jesus is still the answer And though time and ages roll Jesus is still the answer He's the answer for your soul And though some may say That He doesn't fit with their philosophy I know Jesus is still the answer He's always been and always will be.
Some men pretend that things of this world Have brought them peace of mind
But with the dawn of each new day New thrills they try to find Not until they meet the Prince of Peace Can they ever hope to find relief For Jesus is still the answer For a world that seeking for peace."
I hope you will enjoy hearing The Collingsworth Family sing this old song this morning! I pray you will have a very blessed Friday!
