At church, our music director so often passes out a song for the choir to practice and he will say "this is my favorite song". I've never really discussed it with him, but I think I know how he feels. There are so many amazing songs, they are all my favorites. In fact, if all my favorite songs are sang at my funeral, the attendees better come prepared to stay awhile because it will be an all day singing!
I really do love this song but the group that I've heard sing it over the years is definitely my favorite southern gospel quartet. I have been following The Inspirations for 50 years or more. They have been an inspiration to me and have influenced my life and helped shape my love for quartet singing. A great group of guys and fine Christian men.
As I think back, I'm surprised Mom, Dad, or my sisters didn't kick me out of the house as a teenager. If I was home, it would not be unusual to hear an Inspiration album playing on the stereo. And when I went to one of their concerts or services, it didn't end when it was over. I would come home and listen to their recordings new and old for hours. Yes, The Inspirations have meant a lot to me over the years and I'm looking forward to seeing them January 3rd for their annual sing in Gadsden.
I hope you will enjoy the song that I woke up to this morning, "It's Still The Blood".
Aren't you glad that it's still the blood of Jesus that saves from sin, cleanses within and will bring victory to all of us who will only accept it.
