The days after Thanksgiving were always so exciting growing up. It was the beginning of the Christmas season with all the fun and excitement of decorating, shopping, lights, The Pink Pig and the lighting of the great tree at Rich's downtown Atlanta, the Sears and Roebuck Wishbook, Christmas plays at Church and school. It seemed as if it took "forever" for Christmas Day to arrive.
As an adult, I have also felt the same kind of excitement and anticipation of the days or weeks before a special event, a vacation, a trip to visit a special friend, a family reunion, all kind of things we looked forward too. It seems as if it takes "forever" for "it" to finally happen. When the day, event, occasion or whatever arrives, we enjoy as we knew we would and realized the anticipation was worth the wait. The euphoria of that specific occasion ends and we begin to look forward to the next event.
As a Christian, there is one special final event I look forward too. It's that day we pass from this life and go to meet our Savior. As I have grown older, I realize with each passing day, the day of that occasion draws closer. If the laws of nature are right, I know there are a lot more days behind me than in front of me. And that's ok as "It's Not Long Until Forever". And that event will not last for a couple of hours, a day or even a week but it will be forever, for all eternity. It's hard for my simple mind to fully comprehend the word "forever". I mean everything that I have experienced has had a starting point and an ending point. But "forever" has no ending point.
Using Brother John's technique of better understanding a word, I looked up "forever' in the dictionary. It says, for a limitless time. Can you imagine spending a limitless time in Heaven with our Jesus, all of the Saints of old and our loved ones who have gone before us? It kind of makes you want to shout, knowing something you anticipate and look forward too, when it occurs, it will never end! Hallelujah!
I think this is the second or third song I have woke up to recently written by Dianne Wilkinson. "It's Not Long Until Forever" was recorded by The Inspirations in 2013 or 2014 on their CD "God's Word Still Stands". I do not recall any other artist or groups recording or singing it. I pray you will be blessed listening to this song today!
I hope you will have an amazing Sunday!
💕 love this song!
