If you like hand clapping, toe tapping, old convention type songs, you probably will enjoy the song I woke up to this morning! It's the very first song in the Church Hymnal. This is the type song, I think I was mesmerized by as a kid. Every one starts singing and then they start "going everywhere" only to end back up at the same place. LOL I think these are the type songs why I love old hymns and southern gospel music so good.
"It's Just Like Heaven" was written by W. Oliver Cooper and has a copyright date of 1929. I remember it being sang in church but I also remember the old Lefevres singing it often. Over the years, other groups have recorded it but it is not one that I have heard frequently.
Gerald Wolfe and Greater Vision has sung it for years and have included it on several recordings. I think as the Church Hymnal singings have grown more popular with so many churches over the past several years, "It's Just Like Heaven" has been recorded by more groups.
I picked two links to share this morning. One is a traditional style quartet and also a family group I always love to hear. I hope you will enjoy hearing the great old song today!
Happy Tuesday!
Love the traditional quartet best!
