I have said before, I probably use the word "sweet" way too much. I often refer to my friends, people and things I enjoy most as "sweet". I just don't have a better word for whatever it is to describe it . "Sweet" just seems like the very best and only word in my limited vocabulary that really describes what I mean.
I was curious so I thought I would see what the dictionary and others might use instead of the word "sweet". Some of those include; delightful, pleasant, satisfying, likeable, appealing, nice, and captivating. I wonder in 1945 when Luther G. Presley wrote this song if he considered another word for "sweet" to describe "forever". I have enjoyed hearing and singing this song my entire life.
Of course, I associate "In The Sweet Forever" with the Redback Church Hymnal. That's "the songbook" we used to sing out of most of my life. I can not help but think of some of those amazing song services and revival meetings especially in some of those old country churches. The congregation just "laid in to" this one and lifted their voices in song. "In The Sweet Forever" was one of those that it seemed the congregations just really enjoyed singing their joy and praise.
"And happy we will be while the ages fly!"
I hope you will enjoy hearing "In The Sweet Forever" this morning!
I pray you will have a blessed Thursday!
