First, let me say "thank you" for all of your words of encouragement, sharing your memories, your testimonies and thoughts over the past 100 posts. Yes, 100 posts! Yesterday's blog was number 100 and I did not realize it until after it was posted. After encouragement, I started this journey, and I must admit I was surprised that I have continued it even for a few days and here I go with post 101. I appreciate your reading and allowing me to share, what I believe is a very personal intimate relationship with God as he blesses me every morning with a special song to start my day!
Several weeks ago, a friend and I were discussing old songs and hymns and this song was mentioned. It is a song, I remember so well as I have heard it sung so many times, but I do not recall hearing it recently. Then yesterday, I had to stop by the grocery store and saw an old client who I have not seen since before I got sick and we spent a few minutes "catching up" (social distancing of course) and as we talked, he discussed God's love and how he had never been sorry a single day he spent serving Him. "I've Never Been Sorry" crossed my mind again, so I guess I should not be surprised, God blessed me this morning with this as my wake up song.
"I've Never Been Sorry" is one of my favorite songs of the many written by Albert E. Brumley, "I'll Fly Away," "Turn Your Radio On," "If We Never Meet Again (This Side of Heaven)," "I'll Meet You In The Morning", and "He Set Me Free" are just a few of the over 800 songs he gave us during his lifetime. I love the words of this song and they seem perfect for the days we are going thru right now.
"Ever since Jesus saving pardon I have been singing everyday. I've never been sorry, (praise the Lord) that I trusted His name. (Blessed Holy name) Through the dark shadows, He is with me leading me on the upward way, I've never been sorry (praise the Lord) that I trusted His name. (Blessed Holy name) I've never been sorry, (praise the Lord) that I trusted His name, (Blessed Holy name) Every moment I find Him (All the way) Exactly the same (He's exactly the same), My soul has been singing (Everyday) Since the Savior came (Since the Savior came), I've never been sorry (praise the Lord) That I trusted His name (Blessed Holy name) Brightly the star of hope is shining, Making my pathway brighter grow I've never been sorry (praise the Lord) That I trusted His name (Blessed Holy name) Never a thought of sad repining, Jesus is with me, this I know I've never been sorry (praise the Lord) That I trusted His name (Blessed Holy name) I've never been sorry (praise the Lord) that I trusted His name, (Blessed Holy name) Every moment I find Him (All the way) Exactly the same (He's exactly the same), My soul has been singing (Everyday) Since the Savior came (Since the Savior came)," I'm going to share a link from an old Gaither video as it shares so many of the wonderful old gospel singers smiling faces who have now gone on to sing in that heavenly choir. I hope you will enjoy this version of "I've Never Been Sorry".
