I know I have woke to this song several times before but I sure enjoyed hearing it this morning! Sometimes, I think about not writing my morning thoughts as I wake to a song as I seem to say the same thing over and over again. I'm not much of a writer but you know that already.
I'm so thankful I was raised in a Christian home where I gained a love for Church Hymns and Gospel music at an early age. I'm so grateful, I had the opportunity to sing and share God's Word through songs as a teenager. As I think back (and now) I often think the songs I sang are more for my heart than those who were hearing it.
To say something different this morning, I will share a story that I'm pretty sure I have never told before. Unfortunately the story will mean nothing to anyone but me but I'll tell it anyway. LOL I think it was my senior year of high school, my girlfriend wrote in my yearbook (we called them annuals back then... do kids still write notes and memories in their yearbooks today? ... do they still have annuals? LOL). She commented about several things including singing and added the comment "if I was smart I'd keep on". As I think back, I'm not sure if she was talking about dating her or singing. I'm going to take it as singing and I was "not smart" as I did not keep singing for many years after that. But I was "smart enough" to know, it may be "good singing" when you are a teenager but when you become an adult, you need to know how to sing. But today, many years later, I still love trying to sing and will try to sing anytime even when in the yard pulling weeds or something.
This old Squire Parson's song, "I Sing Because" I think helps explain. I hope you will enjoy hearing it this morning. The link I'm going to share is one of my favorite versions.
I pray you will have a great day!
