"Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5 : 6 - 8
"Oh how precious is the promise
That with gladness fills my soul
I shall be at home with Jesus
While eternal ages roll."
This is a song I have enjoyed a long time. I don't have a specific memory of when I first heard it though. I know I remember hearing The Blackwood Brothers, The Happy Goodman Family and hearing The Downings when they appeared the Sunday morning Gospel Jubilee. The Inspirations recorded it on their second album "He's Our Guide" recorded in 1967. So I have heard it many times by many groups.
But in the early 90's The MaKameys, included on a live album called "With Feeling Live". I listened to this CD over and over again as I made the trek every morning down GA400 to work and back in the traffic every afternoon. A recording as this sure keeps your attitude right when you are in some of those Atlanta traffic moments ... I mean hours. LOL
I hope you will enjoy hearing the MaKameys this morning!
