I See Jesus

I guess I will never understand why I wake to a particular song. Perhaps God is sending a message to me or maybe, He is using me to share with others or perhaps both. When I started writing these morning messages over a year ago, I had no idea who would read them, how many would read and listen but I have been beyond amazed. Sometimes, I start to think I will not continue and then I will receive a message, an email, a text, or a phone call and that person's memory or words give me the encouragement to continue. I say "thank you" and I pray that something I might post will be a blessing to you!

I woke to "I See Jesus" back in the summer. I remember hearing this song sung often growing up and it's one of the few I still think I can sing (well not sing but recite LOL) every word. There have been so many groups and artists who have sang and recorded "I See Jesus" but I don't hear it too often today.

"I See Jesus" was written by an individual who was born in Gadsden, AL. Charles Wycuff wrote many songs of which several are my favorites, "The Wonder Of Wonders", "What A Lovely Name" and "I Nearer Home Than I Was Yesterday".

"Once a man named Steven, preached about the Lord,

Folks were saved and folks were healed as they heard his Word.

Satan did not like it, soon he had his crowd

And as he was tried they heard Steven cry aloud.

I see Jesus standing at the Father's right hand.

I see Jesus yonder in the Promised Land.

Work is over, now I'm coming to thee.

I see Jesus standing waiting for me.

As the stones fell on him, beating out his life.

Steven knew he'd soon be through with all toil and strife.

So much like a Master with a heart so true

He prayed, Lord forgive them for they know not what they do.

Through the gates of glory down the streets of gold,

Marched the hero of the Lord into Heaven's fold.

When he met the Master at the great white throne,

I believed He smiled and said "Steven, welcome home".

I see Jesus standing at the Father's right hand.

I see Jesus yonder in the Promised Land.

Work is over, now I'm coming to Thee.

I see Jesus standing waiting for me."

I pray your Wednesday will be fantastic!

Gary, I don’t tell you often enough how much your words and song means to us. I go around humming it the rest of the day and thinking what a blessing you are to so many people and thinking about all my precious memories of your Mother and Daddy and your grandparents and your great grandparents. I love going to see Uncle John and Aunt Susie. I can see Aunt Susie when they would come from church on Sundays to eat with us. Aunt Susie was a little bitsy woman always with a hat to match her outfit. Uncle John always had a longer blessing than my Dad. I miss so many relatives from my Gentry family but knowing “…
