I Love To Tell The Story

When I started on this adventure of sharing how I wake up each morning, I did not know if I could do it, how long it would last, what to expect, but with the encouragement of several important people in my life, I decided to do it. I have been so blessed my entire life, but the last few years, God has been so good to me. It was just two years ago, I finally came home from the hospital and rehab to begin my home recovery. (And considering, previously, I wasn't expected to live, and when I came home, I couldn't hardly walk without assistance, I would say today, God has been so very good to me.) I think that's one of the reasons I love the song, "The Longer I Serve Him, The Sweeter He Grows".

During my recovery, I began to realize how I was waking up each morning. A little different for me but I still did not give it a lot of thought but just enjoyed it. As it continued, I started sharing with others and they suggested writing the songs down and here I am today writing a morning blog. But as I share my song and my memories and stories, I never expected the emails, the texts, the messages that I receive from so many of you each day. It makes me so happy to hear your stories of your favorite songs and singers. I love hearing your memories and your stories. I love hearing your prayers and blessings. I wear my phone's battery out every day just anticipating what you decide to share with me. I'm so thankful for all of you who read my stories.

"I love to tell the story of unseen things above, of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus and His love. I love to tell the story because I know 'tis true; it satisfies my longings as nothing else could do. I love to tell the story;

'twill be my theme in glory

to tell the old, old story

of Jesus and His love."

What a beautiful and remarkable song to wake up with this morning. This is an old song, I have enjoyed my entire life. There was a Sunday night several years ago, I was taken by Kadie's angelic voice. I may not be recalling correctly, but I believe this was the song she sang. She and I have discussed and while neither of us remember for sure, I certainly remember the first time I heard her sing. What a joy it has been to watch her grow up, singing, playing different instruments and just being a blessing to all with her sweet personality and smile. I love to hear Kadie tell the story!

"I Love To Tell The Story" was written originally as a poem in 1866 by Kate Hankey. The chorus was written and added by William Fischer in 1869. It has been probably been published in as many hymnals as any of the other great old hymn. It is another one of those songs that has stood the test of time.

As always, there are so many links I would love to share. I listened to a lot hoping to pick one that would be a blessing to you. The one I picked I had never heard before (I don't think LOL). I pray you will enjoy and have a great Saturday1
