I Love My Savior, Too

This morning, I share with you a wonderful old song sung and recorded by many. I remember most hearing the Chuck Wagon Gang, Gold City. The Cathedrals and The Rochesters. I'm often curious about some of the old songs and so this morning I did a little research.

"I Love My Savior, Too" was written in about 1933 by Jesse Randall (Pap) Baxter, Jr. Pap Baxter was born in Alabama and grew up in Dekalb County. When he was 39 years old, he bought a part of the Virgil Stamps Gospel Music Company which then became the Stamps-Baxter Music and Publishing Company. Pap Baxter ran the company from Chattanooga, TN until Mr. Stamps death at which time, Pap Baxter moved the headquarters to Dallas, TX. After Mr. Baxter's death, his wife ran the company until she died and it was then sold to Zondervan. Pap Baxter was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1997.

During his time at Stamps-Baxter, he had a great impact on many of the songs and hymns we often hear and sing today. Through his writing and arranging we have songs such as; "After The Sunrise", "Farther Along", "God Shall Wipe Away All Tears", "I'm Living In Canaan Now", "When He Blessed My Soul" as well as "I Love My Savior, Too".

I pray "I Love My Savior, Too" will be a blessing as you listen today!

I hope you will have a fantastic Saturday!
