I'll Pray For You

A week or so ago, I had great lunch with a good friend. Of course, we discussed lots of things but what struck me most, on the way back to drop him off, he asked, "What can I pray for you?" We are so often requesting prayer for various things and we should. We often encounter someone who is having an issue and we will say "I'll pray for you" or "my prayers are with you". I was so grateful for my friend's heart willingness and desire to solicit needed prayers and I know, he would take my needs to his Heavenly Father.

God has been so good to me and I am so blessed. Of course, I always need prayers but there are so many more needs than mine. I often think, how many times we say "I'll pray for you" and we earnestly take it to the Lord in prayer. Or has that become just another phrase we use, like "How are you?"

Saying we will pray for someone is a serious commitment in my belief. It's a solemn promise to seek the power of God's help, guidance, direction for someone, Throughout God's word, we read of the power of prayer and we are encouraged to pray for each other. Prayer is one of our greatest honors and privileges to communicate with our Heavenly Father. And with all we have going on today, the words "I'll pray for you" are more meaningful than ever.

"I'll pray for you. You pray for me. And together we'll touch Heaven from our knees."

I pray you will have a blessed day and I hope to see you in Prayer Meeting tonight!
