Written in 1936 by Jim Henson, "I'll Live In Glory" may be the best known of all the songs written by this pioneer of southern gospel music. At a young age, Mr. Henson, musicians and business associates formed a company that engaged in numerous activities to meet the needs of the growing field of gospel music. From publishing songbooks, to forming quartets, to conducting singing conventions they were doing it all to spread the gospel through song. It was said at his passing, Mr. Henson may have been the only person who could write the song and music, make the plate, print and bind the book, play the music on the piano or organ and sing the song.
The upbeat, inspiring song "I'll Live In Glory" has always been one of my favorites from the old Church Hymnal. As I woke to this great song this morning, I could not help but think about my hospital experience a couple of years ago. While I wanted to stay here a little longer, if the Savior called me, it was ok because I would live with Him forever in glory by and by. The second verse states, I want to be in His service and lead the lost to Jesus I pray. And finally in the last verse, Mr. Henson wrote, I know the end is nearing, I'll cling to Him forever and spend the endless ages in glory by and by.
I hope you will enjoy hearing "I'll Live In Glory" this morning and let's pray together for our church services this morning if in person, on the radio or TV or over the internet.
As I was looking for a link to share, I found another one I enjoyed hearing. I'm always amazed to hear and watch a video of someone singing all 4 parts. I thought you may enjoy also.
I hope you have an amazing Sunday!
