"And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him." 1 John 5:15
This morning I woke up to a song I have not heard or thought of in years. I love the way God works and how I get these "surprises". This song was recorded by The Inspirations in 1973 on their "Touring That City" album. Of course, "Touring That City" became one of their most popular of all time, but there were several other songs that they sang for years. "Fa Sol La", " Only One Door", "I Believe He Died For Me" and a couple of more. "I Know He Hears" was one of my favorites and I listened to it often but I do not recall The Inspirations singing it to much after it's original release. In fact, I don't recall any other groups singing it either. But I sure enjoyed it and I enjoyed hearing it this morning.
"I Know He Hears" was written my Marvin Dalton and in one of the songbooks I have, it shows a copyright date by Stamps-Baxter Music Company in 1964, Mr. Dalton wrote numerous songs during his life and he also sang with The Hartford Quartet. If I named the song, "Oh, What A Savior", I believe you would quickly begin to hear Rosie Rozell and The Statesmen. If I named, "Looking For A City" you may think of others but perhaps Vestal Goodman would come to mind. These two songs were also written by Mr. Dalton and probably were his most popular.
"He hears me, when I'm pleading,
He knows just what I'm needing,
He hears when I am crying,
He'll stay, when I am dying,
I know He hears when I pray."
I hope you will enjoy hearing the song I woke up to this morning and I pray you will have a terrific Tuesday!
