What a joy and great comfort to wake up to this old hymn and the reassurance that He hears our prayers.
Last night something unusual happened, I couldn't go to sleep. LOL After another day of being "quarantined", hearing the news all day long as the "worst is yet to come", thinking about not being able to attend church services in person this morning, the sickness and difficulties some members of my family are facing, my heart was just simply troubled. I had already said my nightly prayers but I felt the need to return to my Heavenly Father and make wants and wishes known, confess my hopes, fears, concerns and just share with Him what was on my heart. Of course, He knew my thoughts before I uttered them, but I believe He desires us to open up our hearts and talk with Him. I gave thanks and it wasn't long and I fell asleep.
As part of my morning routine, I turned on the TV for the morning news, fixed a cup of coffee, booted up my computer and sat in my chair to watch the night turn to day. I love mornings! I had to do a double take on the TV as one of the morning host newscasters was almost preaching a sermon about how Christ had conquered death, by giving his life on the cross and rising from His tomb and ascending to His Father. It may have been scripted and he was reading off a teleprompter, but the message of the hope we have through our faith in Jesus Christ was being broadcast on the national news media to many people across the world. Today the news of the "worst is yet to come" became the news of "the best is yet to come". Makes you want to shout "Hallelujah" doesn't it? Does me!
Again, what a wonderful way to wake up after trouble going to sleep. "I Know He Heard My Prayer" is an old hymn I have heard throughout my entire life. Written by Rev. Vep Ellis, in the early 1940's, it is one of the many songs Rev. Ellis gave to us to sing and enjoy God's love for us. I hope you will enjoy hearing "I Know He Heard My Prayer" this morning. The first link is of Rev. Ellis' sons singing this great old song. The second link is from one of Gerald Wolfe's gospel hymn sings.
Praying this morning for all our online Sunday School lessons and morning worship services. May God bless each of these offerings that He will be lifted up and be glorified. And anyone seeking hope in their lives today will find the saving grace through Jesus Christ!
