"I know, I know, there's no doubt about it. He lives in my heart and I'm gonna shout it. I know, I know, my sins are forgiven. And I'm on my way to a place that's called Heaven. Not long ago, at an ole fashioned meeting. I knelt on my knees there in prayer. He lifted my burdens; Sins shackles fell from me and His presence was so real everywhere."
If your watched the Superbowl a couple of weeks ago, you may remember a commercial, I believe from Rocket Mortgage. It was about "I'm pretty sure". I remember one scene showed a man holding a mushroom and saying "I'm pretty sure" they are not poisonous while his family fell out behind him. Another was in an airplane with everyone about to jump and him saying, "I'm pretty sure" these are parachutes. I remember the actor poking a hornet's nest and saying "I'm pretty sure" these are not the murdering type. And finally there was a scene with him speeding to jump a draw bridge and saying "I'm pretty sure" we can make it. Well, obviously the advertiser was trying to make the point that "pretty sure" is just not good enough.
I'm glad that "I'm not pretty sure" but "I Know" and there's no doubt about it! In the mid 60's this old gospel song was written by Laverne Tripp. In 1966 the Oak Ridge Quartet (later to become the Oak Ridge Boys) recorded it and they have been singing it ever since. It was one of those "most requested" songs and almost every southern gospel quartet and artist recorded "I Know" especially in the early to mid 1970's. My favorite group, The Inspirations, recorded it in 1970 on their "Keep Your Eyes On Jesus" album. (of course I was going to mention them LOL). Isn't it awesome to "know" and just not being "pretty sure" and you have the assurance of everlasting life we have been given through our acceptance of Jesus as our Savior?
I pray you will enjoy the video I have picked to share this morning.
