I have expressed many times how much I enjoy my mornings! Yes, I've pretty much have always been a "morning person". There is so much for me to enjoy about the start of a new day. A person very special to me mentioned yesterday how he has started getting up in the mornings, sitting on his back deck with his coffee and watching the darkness turn to day. If you haven't tried it, do it one time. If you don't like it you can always go back to bed. LOL Seriously, I know we are not all alike (and that's a good thing in my opinion) but I enjoy my mornings.
Mornings are quiet. The rest of the world around you has not started moving around yet. And to me it's just a perfect time to reflect of the things of the past, the possibilities for the day and the prospects for the future. I find it to be a great time to focus on the things that matter most in my life. My head is clear, I'm full of joy for the awesomeness of the good things from yesterday and the things not so good have faded (well for the most part). Nothing has started happening in the new day so my thoughts of the truly important things have not been distracted (yet). I know when I have become fully engaged in daily activities, all the quiet and solitude of the morning are soon disappeared. But that's okay (most of the time) because I have had these morning moments.
I suspect when some read this, their suggestion for me would be to go back to bed and sleep a little longer. LOL Maybe then I would be able to write something less rambling and that would make sense. (I may go back and read this later and agree LOL) But what I'm trying to say is my mornings are and have been a time where I find I can just sit with my cup of coffee, watch the darkness turn to day and just talk with God.
I wonder if Dottie Rambo was a morning person and found the inspiration to write "I Just Came Talk With You Lord" early one morning, while drinking her coffee and communing with God? I believe she wrote this great song in the early to mid 60's and it has been sung and recorded by many. I have several favorites but I woke to hearing Sheri Easter singing it on one of the Gaither videos. I pray you will enjoy listening and that you will have a blessed day!
