I often joke about my memory (and rightfully so). Sometimes I have difficulty remembering what happened yesterday. But there is one event, etched in my heart and mind that I will never forget, the night the Lord saved me. But I believe this is true of everyone who has experienced accepting the great gift of Jesus as our personal Savior.
"I Can Tell You The Time" is one of my favorite old quartet songs, one I remember so well from my early childhood. Every time I hear it, I can not help but think about the old West Merrits Avenue Quartet. This was our church quartet and I loved when they sang. It was their singing that created my love for quartet singing so much. These 4 individual were an inspiration to me growing up. They loved God and were faithful church members. They were awesome role models for a young person. They left us many years ago but their legacy has made a long lasting impact on me.
"I Can Tell You The Time" was written in 1939 by Adger M. Pace. Mr. Pace gained a love and an appreciation for music at an early age. For 17 years, he sang bass for the Vaughan Radio Quartet. He was one of the individuals known for starting the National Singing Convention serving as president in 1937. He may be best known for his being a teacher of gospel music. Many of the "early" gospel singers were taught by Mr. Pace. Along with "I Can Tell You The Time" he also wrote many other songs like, "That Glad Reunion Day" and "Beautiful Star Of Bethlehem".
I hope you will enjoy hearing "I Can Tell You The Time" today. I have a feeling as you listen, you can't help but think back to the time the Lord saved you! I know you will enjoy that sweet and amazing experience.
I pray you will have a fantastic Tuesday!
