I Can't Even Walk (Without You Holding My Hand)

This morning I wake to a song that I have not thought of it quite some time. It's a song that is so true and if you will permit me, I will tell a story from yesterday that in my opinion certainly illustrates this truth.

Some of you may know or recall, I decided that this year I would cut my own grass. It has been years that I actually got out and had this pleasure. But I decided that I have the time and I certainly need the exercise. Well, with the rain last week, the grass was a little higher than normal and it was pretty warm yesterday morning. Actually it was hot and humid! As I pushed the mower with more difficulty than previous weeks and perspiring more than normal, I could not help but smile and feel the joy in my heart. I could not help but think about how amazing my God is! And I even did the trimming, the blowing and my yard looks pretty good. I'm telling this not to be boastful but because it was not that long ago, I was not even able to walk or do much of anything. I share this because God is so good. I believe "my yard" is a illustration of His love, grace and mercy. It just happened that the guy who use to cut my grass came by yesterday to cut the neighbors yard. We spent a few minutes together sharing God's love for us and the excitement of how God works in our lives and uses us for His glory!

If I had never walked again, that would have been ok because I trust God for what He wants me to be. My steps may be a little slower and my legs may not be able to take me as far as they use too but I praise Him! I know that it is only possible because that is what He desires for me in my life. May I always recognize that "I Can't Even Walk (Without Him Holding My Hand)".

I pray this will be a blessing to you!

As I close this morning's message, let's remember, we have entered the season of Vacation Bible Schools. Last year, many were disrupted to a great extent because of the virus but hopefully this year, many young people will have the opportunity to gather and hear God's Word. East Gadsden's "Backyard Bible Club" will begin today! Let's pray together for these events, the children who will be attending and the individuals who will be sharing their time to work with the kids. I pray that decisions will be made for Jesus Christ to become Lord of their lives!

I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!
