An amazing start to my day! It’s an early start but I will not be able to finish writing the post until a little later today! I hope you have a great morning and hope you will come back later and read about my morning song!

Finally I'm back to write a little about my morning wake up song and my love for it. It is one of those that I absolutely love when I hear it. As I often am, I was curious as to its origins and I was a little surprised it was not quite as easy as I expected. This is one of those times to be careful as you can never be quite sure of what you read on the internet. (Perhaps I just needed to dig a little deeper and make sure I make sure of what I read. LOL)
I first read, there are several accounts to it being first published in 1977. I just didn't trust that, even though I'm not positive, I believe I had heard it many years before. Then I found a reference to Nettie Dudley Washington and that she wrote it in 1923. I believe she may have written it as "Cried Holy" and then later it might have been "tweaked" a little and became the beautiful song we sing today. As I find the history interesting and important, I think the words and message are much more valuable.
The words and message of this song helps us to realize the experience of how it may feel when we reach Heaven. The song opens with the dream of entering the place called "Glory" and describes it as so bright and fair. And I love when it says as we entered the gates, all the angels welcomed us there. But with all the beauty, seeing all that have gone before us, it's pointed out that the most important message is "most of all I want to see Jesus" , "the one who died for me." What a wonderful, amazing experience we have waiting for us.
I remember, one day I believe in about 2003, I was about to get out of my car and enter a grocery store and the song came on the radio. I just sat there and loved listening to the song. I don't recall now who was singing. For some reason, I'm thinking Ivan Parker but it might have been Michael English. It really doesn't matter but it was beautiful and I believe that I could have listened to it over and over again. At church, the choir has sang it several times and have featured two young men singing the solo and both did an amazing job. Just a few weeks ago, a friend of mine and I were talking about how much we love this song and this morning I was blessed with it as my wake up song. And as I started, it was an amazing way to start my day.
I hope you will enjoy hearing the Heritage Singers and their version from their live performance in Prague.
