I love the way God works. I always wake amazed!
Earlier this year. on a Tuesday morning, just shortly before the virus created the need for all of us to stay at home, I woke to "I Am Resolved". Even though it was about 9 months ago, I remember that morning like it was yesterday. I remember it for several different reasons.
First I remember it as one of my favorite songs growing up as a teenager and it brought back so many different memories of those days. I also remember, it was the first day, Tuesday visitation with Brother John was changing as I was going to be visiting with someone else and Brother John was taking another person so we would have two teams out visiting. There was such an excitement about what God would do with two teams! But while we had plans, God had different plans and the plans we had have continued to evolved the past nine months. But God's plan hasn't. He's got this!
That was actually the last day of the in home and hospital visits as the virus was beginning to change our lives in so many ways. It was simply no longer wise or advisable to visit with the concern we all had at that time. Nine months later, the virus is still an adversary and creates a barrier in so many ways. There is still the need to reach out and touch those in need as always. I pray God will show me the ways that will make it possible for me.
"I Am Resolved" is an old song written in the late 1800's. I love the words in the last verse.
"I am resolved, and who will go with me?
Come, friends, without delay;
Taught by the Bible, led by the Spirit,
We’ll walk the heav’nly way."
This Tuesday morning, with all the craziness around us, all the things we are going through, with all the transitions in our lives, I continue with my resolve! It is so hard at times but I am grateful for the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit to lead me along the way!
I pray you will be blessed hearing the music and reading (or singing) the words to this old hymn this morning!
