Heaven's Jubilee

"Some glad morning we shall see, Jesus in the air Coming after you and me, joy is ours to share What rejoicing there will be, when the saints shall rise Headed for that jubilee, yonder in the skies. Oh what singing, oh what shouting On that happy morning when we all shall rise Oh what glory, Hallelujah When we meet our blessed Savior in the skies."

One of my favorites, from the old Redback Church Hymnal. Oh yes, I have lots of favorites but I will always remember growing up with the singing of "Heaven's Jubilee". Just the name of the song is kind of exciting and I loved anytime the song leader would ask the congregation to turn to page 110. I'm reminded of a fun story. (Well it's at least a fun story for me and meaningless probably to everyone else, but I'm going to tell it anyway. LOL)

I was perhaps 16 or 17 years old and the boy's quartet was invited to sing at a church not to far from where we all lived. As I recall, it was somewhere between Decatur and Clarkston, Ga and I believe the name was Shady Grove Baptist. It was a pretty good size church and there were not many seats remaining in the sanctuary. Of course we were excited as we loved to sing and the larger the crowd the better. After our first set, we took our seats to give the congregation a break. I had just got comfortable when the song leader asked me to come up and lead the congregation in a song. The song leader had visited our church and also knew us from Glen Haven Baptist (a church I have mentioned a couple of times before). Shocked would be a good word to describe my reaction, but thank goodness, the church had in the back of the pews the Redback Church Hymnal and I knew page 110.

Well, we sang "Heaven's Jubilee that night and I learned a valuable lesson. Bass singers (or so called bass singers) have no business trying to lead a congregation in singing. LOL But it was a great night of singing, in a church who loved the Lord and it will remain in my memory, I hope as long as I live.

Waking up to "Heaven's Jubilee' is an awesome Saturday blessing. It certainly makes me appreciate even more my "raising". It was a difficult decision finding a link to post. There are so many videos and recordings of this great song. I hope you will enjoy my choice.

The sun has already began to shine this morning. I hope you have a beautiful Saturday!
