I think we all remember the exact time we asked Jesus to come into our lives. We remember the experience and we remember the feeling and the change that came over us. There have been many songs written that express these thoughts and I, for one, enjoy hearing them and enjoy singing them also.
In 1961, John W. Peterson, who had already written many songs, was at a men's conference and was giving his personal testimony. He used the words, "Heaven came down and glory filled my soul". It is said, that as soon as he said it, a song came to his thoughts and when he returned to his seat and wrote those words down. The following week he wrote this great song.
I remember so many times during morning worship service singing this song. I believe this is also one of the hymns so often sung by the choirs and congregations during the Billy Graham Crusades. I do not recall hearing it recently but it was a joy to wake up hearing it this morning!
I hope you will enjoy hearing a clip from one of Gerald Wolfe's Gospel Hymn Singings a couple of years ago.
I pray your Tuesday will be terrific!
