He Loves Me

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

John 15:12-13 (KJV)

I believe it was in the mid 70's, George Amon Webster wrote this amazing song while singing with The Cathedral Quartet. I am always moved when I hear it.

How thankful I am, that God loved us so much He would give us His Son so we could have eternal life. To think, Jesus would suffer and give His life for me, as underserving am I. But it is simple, "He Loves Me" and there has never been or ever will be a greater love than this love He has given us! Oh how thankful I am, to say I have accepted this amazing love as His gift to me. So unworthy but He still loved me.

"Why did He go to cavalry?

Why was His life's blood shed for me?

Why did He suffer like no man has ever done?

There's just one reason, I am the one.

He loves me. He loves me. Jesus loves me.

He loves me. He loves me. Jesus loves me.

When I'm sad, He loves me.

Even when I'm bad, He still loves me

And when it seems no one cares for me, I talk to Jesus. He loves me.

He loves me. He loves me. Jesus loves me.

He loves me. He loves me. Jesus loves me."

Of course, when I hear this song, I almost immediately think of The Cathedrals. But several years ago, Greater Vision invited several bass singers to participate in the creation of an album making Greater Vision a quartet. Eric Bennett sang "He Loves Me" and I really enjoy this version, so I thought I would share today. I hope you will enjoy and be blessed!
