I woke to hearing, "He walks with me, He talks with me, along life's narrow way. He lives! You ask me why I know He lives, He lives within my heart!" What a beautiful way to wake up. I slept a little later than I have any other morning this week, I was a bit groggy headed and I first thought, this isn't Easter. Well, it doesn't have to be to love this wonderful hymn. I have so often sang this hymn at Easter and associate it with the blessed event and that time of celebration, But I'm glad my precious Savior lives within my heart each and every day.
This beautiful hymn was written in 1933 by Alfred H. Ackley and has been published in many hymnals of many denominations. Galatians 2:20 (KJV) says, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me." And then in Ephesians 3:17 (KJV) '"That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love."
Last night during Brother John's message. he mentioned there are so many that do not believe that Jesus rose from the grave. I need to go back and listen to his message again to hear his actually reference and context, but isn't that sad. The very thing that gives me life, hope and joy so many are missing. That is sad. I love knowing and feeling Him living in my heart.
I hope you will enjoy hearing this beautiful old hymn this morning!
