"There's within my heart a melody Jesus whispers sweet and low, Fear not, I am with thee, peace, be still, In all of life's ebb and flow
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! Sweetest Name I know, Fills my every longing, Keeps me singing as I go."
I can't imagine today would not be amazing when I wake to this wonderful old hymn. I have always loved when the congregation stands to sing it. It was written in 1910 by Evangelist Luther B. Bridges after conducting a two week revival in Kentucky. Rev. Bridge's wife and 3 children had stayed back home in Georgia with his father-in-law while he was away. At the conclusion of the revival, he was excited to receive a long distance phone call from home. But unfortunately the call was not as expected as he learned his father-in-law's home had burned and he lost his entire family in the fire. Finding strength in his Savior and leaning heavily on his faith, he wrote the words to "He Keeps Me Singing".
We can find strength and joy in our Lord during the good times and the bad. He is with us always and I'm thankful, "He Keeps Me Singing".
I hope you will enjoy listening to it today and I pray it will be a blessing!
I hope you will have a great day!
