Several days ago, I was in the car heading somewhere. I realized I was singing the words, "Tis so sweet to know I have Jesus with me. He will keep me from sin and from strife. He delivered me from condemnation, now I have eternal life!" I love when a favorite old song comes to my mind and I find myself singing it. (Don't worry the windows were rolled up so no one could hear me.)
I have always enjoyed this song and I seem to remember the boy's quartet singing it also. This has always been one of those that when it comes on the radio, I reach over and turn it up a little louder. You know what I mean? "He Is Mine And I Am His" was written by Dad Speer in 1965 and I believe it may have been the last song he wrote before he died. It has been sung and recorded by many over the years. I love the words.
"God’s amazing grace sent down from Heaven
Rescued me from death and from shame
Opened up my eyes and brought salvation
Now I’m His, praise His holy name,
Chorus:
Now I know. He is mine. I am His forever
He is leading me along life’s way.
He’ll be holding to my hand,
When I cross death’s river.
He will take the sting of death away.
‘Tis so sweet just to know I have Jesus with me
He will keep me from sin and from strife
He delivered me from condemnation
Now I have eternal life!"
I pray you will be blessed by hearing this wonderful song this morning!
Please pray for all our Sunday services today!
